Local fluid dynamics in patients with bifurcated coronary lesions undergoing percutaneous coronary interventions

چکیده
Although the coronary arteries are uniformly exposed to systemic cardiovascular risk factors, atherosclerosis development has a non-random distribution, which follows local mechanical stresses including flow-related hemodynamic forces. Among these, wall shear stress plays an essential role and it represents major factor affecting distribution of in bifurcations. Furthermore, emerging body evidence suggests that factors such as low oscillating may facilitate in-stent restenosis stent thrombosis after successful drug-eluting implantation. Drug-eluting implantation gold standard for bifurcation interventions. In this specific setting interventions on bifurcated lesions, impact fluid dynamics is expected play constitutes substantial opportunity future technical improvement. present review, available data summarized regarding clinical outcome patients with lesions.

conclusions this investigation might contribute to delineate the best treatment options for this high risk population. evidence acquisition we reviewed current evidences on the use of antiplatelet therapy in patients with esrd/hd undergoing pci, focusing on the efficacy and safety of specific agents and their indications for detailed clinical settings. results clinical setting in hd patients is...
متن کاملAssessment of patients skin dose undergoing coronary angiography and Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA)
Background: Practice of interventional cardiology procedures such as Coronary angiography (CA) and percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) has largely increased in recent years and is now changing to a matter of routine in many hospitals. The purpose of this study was to measure skin and organ doses in patients undergoing CA and PTCA and to find a probable relation with c...
متن کامل[Therapeutic approach in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary interventions].
While the performance of percutaneous coronary interventions remains the domain of interventional cardiologists, the management of these patients before, during, and after the procedure is in the domain of general cardiologists, internists and primary care physicians. Therefore, for optimal patient care it is crucial that all engaged physicians should understand the procedural risks, complicati...
متن کاملHaemoglobin-related mortality in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary interventions.
AIMS It has recently been proposed that anaemia is an independent risk factor for development of cardiovascular disease in the general population. The impact of anaemia on long-term survival of patients with manifest coronary heart disease (CHD) has not been assessed so far. In this study, we examined the influence of haemoglobin concentrations on the outcome after percutaneous coronary interve...
متن کاملAntiplatelet Therapy in Hemodialysis Patients Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Interventions
CONTEXT Coronary artery disease is highly prevalent among patients with end stage renal disease/hemodialysis (ESRD/HD) and coronary percutaneous interventions (PCI) has been increased by nearly 50% over the past decade. After PCI with stent placement, guidelines recommend dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT), but no specifically tailored pharmacotherapy approach is outlined for this frail populatio...
